Welcome to the first ever, Friday Favorites! Each week I plan to share with you five sources of inspiration for my minimalist lifestyle. This will range from blog posts, vlogs, YouTube videos, podcasts, books, and more! Minimalism is starting to spread like wild fire, but the information is not always the easiest to find. I hope with me providing different sources each week, you will learn something new and find a new source of inspiration for yourself! [If you do, please let me know below in the comments!]
// Rachel Aust’s Bedroom Makeover – I love how simple her bedroom is. Rachel loves to decorate with black, white, concrete, and green plants. Honestly, I love most of her videos! When I first found her, I binged watched her minimalist videos [she has some vlogs and different lifestyle type videos as well]! She has a lot of great tips, sweet personality, and DIY projects for simple home decor.
// Exploring Alternatives [YouTube Channel] & [Blog] – I love Mat and Danielle from Exploring Alternatives! They travel long-term in a van; living life as minimalist nomads. They have a very unique view on life, and appear to live it to the fullest! They also share other minimalists’ stories who live a non-typical lifestyle. I love the creativity these two bring to the table! They also share ways to earn money while living as travelers, so that they are able to enjoy traveling longer.
// Bea Johnson’s presentation with Google – Minimalism is more than downsizing possessions. At least, it is for me. Recently, I have decided to transition plastic out of my lifestyle. In doing so, my research lead me to this video. Bea is so inspiring and makes living a zero waste lifestyle seem easy and more practical than the lifestyle I currently live. I have ordered her book, and cannot wait to put a few things into practice! My primary focus will still be to remove plastic from my lifestyle, but I know I can do other things as well to reduce the waste in my life.
// Miss Minimalist’s The Joy of One: Pan – This post inspires me to downsize my pots and pans! It is probably my area of weakness when it comes to minimizing. Miss Minimalist also has a book “The Joy of Less”. I have not read it yet, but the reviews are really good! It is definitely on my “To-Read” List!
// Becoming Minimalist – Joshua Becker is a big name when it comes to minimalism. His blog is where I was inspired to learn more about minimalism. I learned that not only could I simplify my possessions, but many more aspects of my life. He has also written several books that are spoken highly of.
