Hi friend! I am sure this is no surprise to you, but October was a bit of a rough month. There are a few reasons for that, but one reason I want to share with you is that my confidence has been a bit low.
Since I have shifted my focus from random minimalism talk to using minimalism as a tool to work towards your dream life, I have felt a stumble.
Of course, any shift has the potential to knock you back a tad. That is why it is important to have a system in place to remind you why you take risks towards your dreams.
It took me a few weeks to really hone in on what was bothering me, but once I figured it out, I put my system to work!
Now I am not saying that my confidence is higher than it has ever been, BUT it is back to where I do believe I can do anything I set my mind to do.
Everyone deserves to be at this level throughout their life, so I want to share with you what I am doing to get back on track and maintain a solid confidence level.
Plus, I have a SURPRISE for you at the end that I think you are going to LOVE! So be sure to read all the way to the bottom of this post!
5 Things to Boost Your Confidence
1 // Affirmations
This first thing I do when I realize my self-talk is not positive. Saying affirmations over and over again, out loud, give us a boost of belief for whatever we do. It is important to say them daily, and possibly a few times throughout the day.
I was listening to a few podcasts over this past week, and at least 3 different podcasters said that it takes 10 positive thoughts to undo 1 negative thought! It instantly clicked with me that I had to get some positive self-talk into my day!
While I am a big believer in affirmations, I had no idea it took so much to reverse the effects of 1 negative thought. Ever since, I have worked hard to say only nice things to myself, and you should, too!
To be able to write out everything that is on your mind will release a lot of stress. Stress can easily be a cause to lower confidence, because it removes focus from your dream.
I love to sit and write out what is on my mind, and often times I end up writing things that I had no idea were bothering me. As I continue to write, I start unfolding what was causing me misery, confusion, or just an uneasiness in my life.
When you figure it out, you can begin to heal. So write down everything on your mind until there is nothing left to say.
3 // Pampering
Sometimes we need a good evening of pampering ourselves. I love when I slow down to relax and enjoy a face mask or foot soak. The feeling of caring for ourselves gives our confidence a boost, because we are reminding ourselves that we are important.
When we finish the pampering with glowing, soft skin, it is hard not to feel more confident.

4 // Eating Healthier
There are studies that show a relationship to our emotional state based on what we eat. After doing a yo-yo of healthy eating to not so healthy eating, I can see that.
When you eat healthy, you have natural energy, glowing skin, and possibly shed a few excess pounds. Healthy food fuels your body to do great things, while junk food bogs your body down to be able to process it.
How could your confidence not improve by eating healthier, right? Steering clear of unhealthy food is definitely boosting my confidence a little more everyday, and is becoming easier to develop as a habit.

5 // Address an area of concern
This is honestly the hardest part to admit in my system. We all know that a major flaw in the human species is the comparison game. We look at a snapshot of someone and think they have it all.
You start to see major flaws in yourself, and for me, it is personally all about my smile. I personally have struggled with my smile for many years. While I do not want to go into the entire story, I will share what I am doing at this very moment to fix how I feel.
I struggle with wanting pearly white teeth [Yes, I love my black coffee!]. I have tried so many teeth whitening systems that are on the market, but I have extremely sensitive teeth. DIY recipes helped some, but not enough to remove stains from when I had braces as a teenager.
When Smile Brilliant reached out to me for a partnership a few months ago, I was intrigued, but apprehensive. I knew that whitening my teeth would help me stop being as harsh on myself, but I was not sure if this company was the right fit.
After some research, I saw that their system was developed for people with sensitive teeth. Their kit includes not only the whitening gel, but also a desensitizing gel! They also custom-fitted trays, specifically for your teeth, so you are not wasting product with those “one-size-fits-all” trays.
Once I read all about their system and company, I agreed to try the product. The lady I have worked with at Smile Brilliant is super sweet and helpful, which makes saying yes even better!
Like I said before, my teeth are super sensitive, so I am going through the process slowly.
I started using the system in 30 minute doses, and now I am up to 2 hours. As long as I use the desensitizing gel, I have no problems whatsoever!
Here is my Before and After, well more so a progress photo. I am still working to whitening them, but I am stoked about my results so far!!
So many stains have been lifted that I never thought would! My teeth were horribly stained while I wore braces, and this is the first system that has managed to lift them without extreme sensitivity issues.
So as I said above, they reached out to me for a partnership, which means that together we are giving away 1 complete whitening kit [$139 Retail Value!] to one of my readers!! How exciting right?! All you have to do is click this link below for your chance to win! The giveaway has ended!
If you are interested in this product, I also have a DISCOUNT CODE for you!! Just use the code: awelderswife10 & you will receive 10% off of your order!
Anyways, I hope that by sharing my confidence building system with you helps. I know that when I focus on these 5 things my confidence gets set back to where it needs to be.
Just remember that it takes time. You have seen from my month of not posting as consistently as I should that working your confidence back up is a process. It is not something that happens overnight, so be patient with yourself.
