Hi friend & Happy September!! I know I am posting on an abnormal day, but some exciting things are happening that I want to share with you! I am not sure why this time of the year brings big changes and setting new goals for many. Maybe it is the routine of starting a new school year that many of us never grow out of; or maybe it is the fall season bringing us more pleasant weather. Regardless, change is in the air!
Changes coming to The Tannehill Homestead
Earlier this year, I dedicated myself to posting one time a week. Sometimes my consistency wavered, but hopefully, my quality never did. With returning to school, I shifted my priorities a bit, and blogging took a step back in frequency. Over the past couple of months, I have really wanted to step up my game, but afraid that it will hurt the quality of my posts.
Well I am not allowing the fear of loosing quality hold me back any longer, because I do not think that will actually be an issue.
You may have noticed a couple of changes on the blog. The Tannehill Homestead now has a clear brand and purpose! The mission will still remain the same, but the topics are expanding. Living a simple lifestyle by way of being a minimalist has been the central focus of The Tannehill Homestead from the beginning. In living this way, I am fortunate enough to chase after my dreams and do things I never though possible.
If you follow my on Instagram, you see more of the lifestyle I get to live because I am a minimalist. Now, I feel is the time to bring that over onto this blog. The Tannehill Homestead will now focus on a specific place in my journey where minimalism, homesteading, and dream chasing meet. By removing the excess from our lives, we finally have a chance to live the life we only dreamed about. You can still expect the same content, but we are going to throw in how going after your dreams can completely transform your life, as well as how farming has taken my simple life to a new level [and it can do the same for you!].
My new schedule for posts is Monday and Friday’s. My plan is to start and end your week with a bit of inspiration to challenge yourself to work for the things you truly want in this life. I hope you are as excited as me!
Monthly Goals: September
Last year, I shared monthly goals with you to hold myself accountable in different areas of my life. I took a break from it when life got a little too busy. However, I truly miss sharing my goals with you, and I want to start it back up again. This time, I am going to split my goals up into personal and blogging goals. For each one, 5 goals will be set, and each month, we will review the progress made.
I am doing this for 3 reasons:
- I find I am much more productive when I know I have friends like you to hold me accountable.
- Hopefully this will encourage you to join me in goal setting, and we can cheer each other across the goal line!
- Successful people make their goals known, and work hard to accomplish them. While success may look different for everyone, we all deserve a way to motivate us to achieve the success we want in our lives.
- Meal Plan and grocery shop weekly.
- Complete the rough drafts to all 4 of my essays due for my Real Estate course.
- Spend 30 minutes each day either cleaning or tidying. [I will explain in a future post.]
- Read one book.
- Exercise for 30 minutes 3 times a week and drink 64+ ounces of water daily.
- Publish 2 posts a week.
- Find 20 inspiring things to repin on Pinterest daily.
- Share 3 Instagram Stories and 1 Instagram post daily.
- Share 2 Facebook posts daily.
- Declutter my Email Inbox to Inbox (0). [I will explain in a future post.]
It maybe a bit unusual for me to share my blogging goals with you, but I want you to see a bit of what goes on behind the scenes. Some of these goals are already incorporated into my daily life, but maybe lack 100% commitment when I have a really busy day. Others are completely new to me, so I am excited to see how it all unfolds.
For my personal goals, I shared in an Instagram Live how I want to successfully meal plan for my hubby and I. If I do achieve success with this in September, I will share with you some tips on how I did that. The hubby and I have gone through some taste bud changes, especially this past year; so meal planning is not as simple as it used to be. We are on two different wave lengths when it comes to what we like. My goal is to find the happy medium, and get back to meal planning successfully.
